Matthys headshot 2016MICHAEL MATTHYS (Mike) is thrilled to be making his CVRep debut in this great play!   Most recently he appeared as Elbow/Barnardine in New American Theatre’s production of Measure for Measure.  A devout Shakespearean, he has also assayed the roles of Albany, Angelo, Aufidius, Valentine, Toby Belch, Orsino, Jacques, Oberon, and Mercutio (5 times, including an award-winning performance) in theatres all over Southern California.  He has performed at the Ahmanson, LA Shakespeare Festival, Laguna Playhouse, the Colony, Ensemble Theatre, the Rubicon, and for four seasons with A Noise Within.  He started his AEA career at the Guthrie where he was a company member, and played Treplev in Garland Wright’s acclaimed production of The Seagull (archived at Lincoln Center!) His most recent feature films include Stan the Man and House of Deadly Secrets (available on Netflix).  On TV he is most well-known for his portrayal of Dr. Kent on Grey’s Anatomy.
