This summer, CVRep brings you a variety of talent to keep you entertained: from local favorites Glenn Rosenblum and Alix Korey to Tony Award nominee Christiane Noll and many more! Each performance is an up close and personal experience in our intimate theatre. Each performance begins at 7PM. Join us for a pre-show social hour at 6pm.

BROADWAY SHOWSTOPPERS SERIES WITH GLENN ROSENBLUM PART I: “CELEBRATING BROADWAY MUSICALS OF THE 1970S”

Special Guests: GREGG SHERMAN (son and nephew of the legendary Disney composers, Richard M. and Robert B. Sherman) and ILENE GRAFF (Grammy Award- nominated actress, singer, teacher) celebrating some of the great musicals of the 1970’s on Broadway, including OVER HERE! by the Sherman Brothers, I LOVE MY WIFE, PURLIE, AIN’T MISBEHAVIN’, SUGAR BABIES and more!

SALLY MAYES

The NEW YORK TIMES calls her ‘incandescent, deliciously saucy.’ PEOPLE Magazine describes her as ‘the kind of rich theatrical voice that elevates a show tune.’ And TIME Magazine says ‘Sally Mayes renders songs as richly nuanced as one-act plays.’ Sally made her Broadway debut in Cy Coleman’s WELCOME TO THE CLUB. Her performance won critical praise along with a Theater World Award and Outer Critics Circle nomination as one of Broadway’s Outstanding Newcomers. On Broadway, Sally is perhaps best known for her performance in the Roundabout Theater revival of SHE LOVES ME for which she won Tony, Drama Desk and Outer Critics Circle nominations. Sally appeared as Aunt Corene in URBAN COWBOY (Drama Desk nomination). She drew raves as Mae West in the National Tour of DIRTY BLONDE and also appeared in the Broadway revival of STEEL MAGNOLIAS. Sally starred in several Off-Broadway productions including CLOSER THAN EVER (Outer Critics Circle nomination), DAS BARBECU, PETE N’ KEELY (Drama Desk nomination for Outstanding Actress in a Musical), PLAY IT COOL, GOOD OL’ GIRLS, and THE BEST IS YET TO COME.
 

JUNE 24

ALIX KOREY

ALIX KOREY has returned to her home in Rancho Mirage after co- starring in the 2016 acclaimed Broadway revival of Fiddler on the Roof. Her previous Broadway appearances include ALL SHOOK UP, CHICAGO, Neil Simon’s 45 SECONDS FROM BROADWAY, TRIUMPH OF LOVE, AIN’T BROADWAY GRAND, IS THERE LIFE AFTER HIGH SCHOOL and PIRATES OF PENZANCE. 

Off- Broadway, she originated roles in THE WILD PARTY (Drama Desk nomination), NO WAY TO TREAT A LADY(Outer Critics Circle nomination) and SUBURB (Drama League Award) among many others.

SUSAN EDWARDS MARTIN

Susan Edwards Martin, a two-time Broadway World Winner, is an accomplished actress, singer, composer, writer, and Broadway performer with a career spanning stage, screen, and music. Best known for originating the role of Lady Blues in the Tony Award-winning Torch Song Trilogy, she also starred on Broadway in Bubbling Brown Sugar and The Suicide alongside Derek Jacobi. A seasoned performer, Susan tours nationally with her one-woman show and released her CD, Simply Susan, Reimagined! and her newest CD offering, You’ve Gotta Have Heart.  Beyond performance, she has composed music for a Korean children’s music company and gained a significant online following with her original song “Thank You, I Love You.” She co-wrote and produced Lenny And Lori’s America’s Got Tolerance Show, a musical comedy focused on celebrating diversity and promoting peace and acceptance. The show was recently staged at Walter Reed Middle School in Los Angeles. A passionate educator and vocal coach, website creator, often collaborating with her husband Peter through their editing and video production platform. Susan’s work consistently blends creativity with purpose, encouraging tolerance, love, and self-expression. Her wide-ranging talents have led to appearances in numerous television shows and commercials, including spots for Disney Destinations, Walmart, DirecTV, and Dunkin’ Donuts.

JULIE GARNYÉ

JULIE GARNYÉ was most recently heard as a vocalist in the blockbuster 2024 film WICKED and was last seen on stage as Leah in the World Premiere of Prelude to a Kiss, the Musical at both South Coast Repertory Theatre and Milwaukee Repertory Theatre. Theatre: Come From Away (1st National Tour – Original Cast), CATS (5th National Tour – Jennyanydots/Grizabella), HAIR and CHESS in Concert on Broadway (The New Amsterdam Theatre), three Hollywood Bowl Summer Musicals: Les Misérables, Chicago, and Mamma Mia!, and First Things Last at London’s Garrick Theatre. 

JULY 15

WILLIAM RYALL

WILLIAM RYALL is a veteran of 15 BROADWAY SHOWS, including AMADEUS, GRAND HOTEL, HOW TO SUCCEED (with Matthew Broderick), ANYTHING GOES (with Sutton Foster), and 7 years in WICKED. He sang “You’re A Mean One” on NBC’s 2006 MACY’S PARADE and appeared in 5 TONY AWARDS BROADCASTS. TV credits include HBO’s THE GILDED AGE (as Mr. Hefty), THE MARVELOUS MRS. MAISEL, and QUANTICO. A graduate of THE AMERICAN ACADEMY OF DRAMATIC ARTS, Bill is thrilled to return to CVRep after starring in DIRTY BLONDE.

CLAYBOURNE ELDER

Enjoy a hilarious and heartfelt evening that’s part cabaret and part stand-up with Broadway’s hunky gay ex-Mormon dad Claybourne Elder in “If The Stars Were Mine.”   

Currently playing John Adams on HBO’s smash-hit period piece “THE GILDED AGE,” Claybourne recently starred on Broadway as Andy in the 2021 Tony Award-winning revival of COMPANY with Patti Lupone.  Elder is a SAG Award, Grammy, Drama Desk and Lucille Lortel nominee who’s brought laughter and heart to audiences nationwide with roles in Sunday in the Park with George, Bonnie and Clyde, and Torch Song.  His TV and film credits include “The Carrie Diaries,” “FBI,” and “Bad Cupid.” Elder has also made appearances on “The Kelly Clarkson Show,” “This American Life” and “CBS This Morning.”

DAVID BURNHAM

David Burnham is a Broadway actor and award-winning performer best known for playing Fiyero in WICKED and originating a role in the Tony-winning musical THE LIGHT IN THE PIAZZA. He has starred in national tours of JOSEPH AND THE AMAZING TECHNICOLOR DREAMCOAT and JESUS CHRIST SUPERSTAR, and appeared in Off-Broadway and Las Vegas productions like THE BEST IS YET TO COME – THE MUSIC OF CY COLEMAN and SHOWSTOPPERS. Burnham has voiced animated films, performed internationally in concert, released two solo albums, and co-wrote the Off-Broadway musical HAPPY 50ISH. He also teaches and mentors young performers through workshops and his summer program CAMP SING.

JEFF HARNAR

Jeff Harnar makes his CVRep debut with his critically acclaimed album release show JEFF HARNAR sings SAMMY CAHN The Second Time Around with Music Director ALEX RYBECK; Directed by BARRY KLEINBORT.

The show arrives in conjunction with the worldwide release of Jeff’s album SAMMY CAHN The Second Time Around, out of print since 2001, newly remastered and reimagined with six new tracks from PS Classics. The show and the album shine a special spotlight Cahn’s lyrics for Sinatra, Hollywood and World War II. Featured songs include: All The Way, Teach Me Tonight, Call Me Irresponsible, I Fall in Love Too Easily, Saturday Night (Is the Loneliest Night of the Week) and Time After Time.

LEE ROY REAMS

LEE ROY REAMS has been hailed by the New York Times as “Broadway’s song & dance man nonpareil” for his leading Broadway roles in THE PRODUCERS (Carbonell, Helen Hayes & Las Vegas Life Awards), 42ND STREET (Tony & Drama Desk Nominations), BEAUTY & THE BEAST, LA CAGE AUX FOLLES, HELLO, DOLLY!, AN EVENING WITH JERRY HERMAN, APPLAUSE, LORELEI, OKLAHOMA! & SWEET CHARITY. On Broadway, he directed the last revival of Carol Channing’s HELLO, DOLLY! & AN EVENING WITH JERRY HERMAN.

CHRISTIANE NOLL

Miss Noll is a Tony Award and Drama Desk Award Nominee, Helen Hayes award winner for her performance in the Kennedy Center Theatre’s Broadway revival of the acclaimed production of Ragtime. Broadway and National Tour appearances include, Dear Evan Hansen, Elf, Chaplin (Drama Desk Nomination), Urinetown (Ovation Award), The Mambo Kings, It Ain’t Nothin’ But The Blues, Jekyll & Hyde (FANY award), Grease, Miss Saigon, City of Angels and South Pacific (Australia/ Thailand).
