Premier Series: Four Gay Plays That Shook the World
With each session a new play will be explored. The lecture will include the main elements drama/comedy which serve as the foundation and basis of the lectures. What does it take to create and produce a successful play? And what is a successful play? The essential elements will include but will not be limited to the plot of the story, the theme, the genre in which the story belongs, the characters, the setting, and the audience. We will also take a look at the time period in which it was written and the impact it had in the world. We will also share various productions of the plays, actors that have played the roles, and what elements are necessary to create a production of this play. The lecture will be lively and engaged with encouraged questions. We will even read passages out loud to explore theme and possible intentions of the playwright.
