Section 2: Adult Performance Classes & Lecture/Non-Performance Classes

Where is CVRep Located?

68510 E. Palm Canyon Drive, Cathedral City, CA 92234

Where are classes held?

All of our classes are held in the CVRep Conservatory located just passed the Box Office on the Hwy. 111 side of the our building.

What is the pick-up and drop-off policy for students?

The guardian should park their vehicle and students should be walked up to the Conservatory and checked in with the Faculty and/or Class Assistant. Each student should arrive at least 5 minutes before the class time. To pick up your student, please park and come to the Conservatory door. You will register who is eligible to actually pick up your student.

What should the student wear to class?

Students should wear loose-fitting comfortable clothing and shoes that will allow a freedom of movement. Students MUST wear close toed shoes. And students with long hair should have it pulled back for class.

How many youth will be in each class?

We like our classes sizes to be on the smaller size and try to limit younger classes to 15/16 and the older youth to 19/20. If it is a production driven class, the cast size dictates the class sizes.

Can my student make-up a session if they miss a class?

We do not have make-up sessions, unfortunately and encourage no more than missing one session per 8 week program. This policy is so that each student will get the most out of each course.

Are parents/guardians allowed to watch the class?

You may be permitted with advance notice to observe depending on the work being done. And we hope you understand that your time observing will be limited to 15 minutes to ensure an environment of greater focus for your student. Sometimes parents can distract the student.

Can my student bring a friend to class?

Only enrolled students may attend the classes. We want to create a safe environment for creative exploration. We encourage all friends and family members to attend the showcases at the end of every session.

Which class should my child join if they have had previous acting experience?

All students are placed with their age group. Our Faculty come to rely on those students with more  experience as leaders in the class. We feel it is important to focus on the process of the craft and experienced Youth Actors can grow by deepening the work that they do in the class.

Will my child perform in a play?

At the end of each session, we have showcases that will highlight the type of work the student has done in this course. This type of work puts more value on the process and not so much on creating a product/play at the end of the session.

Can my child be cast in shows on the Mainstage at CVRep?

There are times when the CVRep Mainstage productions require child Actors. In those instances, we will alert our students that auditions are being held. But keep in mind they will be auditioning for the role as will many other child Actors. The right Actor for the part will be cast.
