Based on the CBS television movie The Queen of the Stardust Ballroom which starred Maureen Stapleton as aging widow Bea Asher who, having lost her beloved Morrie, begins life anew at the Stardust Ballroom, an old school Brooklyn dance palace.

Seeking the roles of:

Bea (60’s or 70’s, must be strong singer and dancer)

Al (late 60’s or 70’s, must be strong singer and dancer)

Also, seeking non-dancing roles

Helen (sister to Bea) late 60’s or 70’s

Jack (husband of Helen) late 60’s or 70’s

Diane (Bea’s daughter) mid 30’s

David (Bea’s son) late 20’s

For Ensemble, seeking talented singer/actor/dancers (ages 50 and older)

Equity members and non-union talent welcome
Performers of all ethnic and racial backgrounds are encouraged to audition

Local Auditions at CVRep Playhouse (OPEN CALL FOR LOCAL TALENT)

Sunday, September 8 from 3 – 6pm
Friday, September 13 from 4 – 6pm

Please prepare a ballad and up-tempo song for your audition.
Sides will be handed out to those asked to read for a role.

 

L.A. Auditions will be held at Actors Equity Building, 5636 Tujunga Avenue, North Hollywood

Tuesday, September 10 (Open Call 10am-6pm, lunch break 1-2 pm)
