Free parking is located in the city parking garage 1 block from CVRep, on Lalo Guerrero. Upon arrival, please use the entrance under the green awning on Lalo Guerrero and sign in.

PREPARATION:
Please arrive at least 15 minutes prior to your start time. Those arriving late are not guaranteed an audition time.

All singers / actors will be given 3 minutes to audition.
Singers: Please prepare 16-32 bars of a song in the style of the show.
Actors: Please prepare a 1-2 minute monologue.
You may be asked to stay and read or sing sides from the show.

CHARACTER BREAKDOWN

Character Descriptions for The Minutes

• Mr. Peel (25-35 Male-Identifying) – A newcomer to town and new council member. Considered a protagonist in the show. Curious, determined, and a bit headstrong.
• Mayor Superba (50-60 Male-Identifying) – The mayor and head of the city council. A warm and welcoming presence with a firm grasp and control of the team. He knows how to play the game. Authoritative, folksy, and self-righteous
• Ms. Johnson (30-40 Female-Identifying) – The city clerk responsible for maintaining minutes of every detail of every meeting. Cautious, meticulous, and assertive
• Mr. Blake (40s-60s Male-Identifying) – A council member who can talk the talk, often motivated by what serves him best. Smooth, outlandish, and calculating
• Mr. Hanratty (mid 30s-50s Male-Identifying) – A council member that looks out for what will help the town the most, often trying and failing. Well intentioned, verbose, and passionate
• Mr. Breeding (40s-60s Male-Identifying) – A council member closely aligned with Mayor Superba. Opinionated, self-aggrandizing, and dismissive
• Mr. Assalone (40s-60s Male-Identifying) – Mayor Superba’s other major ally on the council. Aggressive, confrontational and a bully
• Ms. Innes (60+ Female-Identifying) – The second-longest-serving member of the council. Focuses only on her agenda items. 
• Ms. Matz (35-45 Female-Identifying) – A flighty and distracted member of the council that struggles to complete her actionable items. Unaware, erratic, and in her head
• Mr. Oldfield (65+ Male-Identifying) – The longest-serving member of the council with a bit of a temper. He often finds himself rambling over minute details. Testy, long-winded, and constant
• Mr. Carp (40s-60s Male-Identifying) – Missing for much of the play, a council member that is seemingly missing. Truthful, well-intentioned, and diligent.

• Track 1 (Male-Identifying) – Gauthier Ralph, British Consul, Director of Police, Priest, Sir Francis, Judge Obadiah, Chinese Broker, Ship Clerk, Bunsby, Proctor, Engineer, Mudge, Clerk, Captain Speedy, Ship Engineer, Train Clerk

• Track 2 (Male-Identifying) – Andrew Stuart, Detective Fix, Priest, Conductor, Elephant Owner, Young Parsi, Oysterpuff, Reverend Wilson’s Servant (a woman)

• Track 3 (Male-Identifying) – Passepartout and John Sullivan 
• Track 4 (Female-Identifying) – Aouda James Forster, Newspaperman, Priest
• Track 5 (Male-Identifying) – Phileas Fogg

Character Descriptions for Million Dollar Quartet

• Elvis Presley: (20s-30s, Male-Identifying) singer/guitar player. Elvis in his 20s at the beginning of his career. Sings: “Memories Are Made Of This,” “That’s All Right,” “Long Tall Sally,” “Peace In The Valley,” “Party,”and “Hound Dog.” Must play and sing well.
• Jerry Lee Lewis: (20s-30s, Male-Identifying) singer/pianist. Jerry Lee Lewis was rock & roll’s legendary piano prodigy. Sings: “Real Wild Child,” “Great Balls Of Fire,” and “Whole Lotta Shakin’ Goin’ On.” Actors with comedic skills who are superb piano players.
• Carl Perkins: (mid 20s-late 30s, Male-Identifying) singer/guitar player (lead guitar). Carl Perkins was the American pioneer of rockabilly music and best known for his song “Blue Suede Shoes.” Sings “Matchbox,” “Who Do You Love?,” “My Babe,” and “See You Later, Alligator.” Actors who are excellent lead guitarists.
• Johnny Cash: (Late 20s-40s, Male-Identifying) singer/guitar player. This is Johnny Cash at the dawn of his epic career. Sings “Folsom Prison Blues,” “Sixteen Tons,” “I Walk The Line,” and “Riders In The Sky.” Must be familiar with his music.
• Sam Phillips: (Mid-30s-40s, Male-Identifying, Non-Singing Role) The “Father of Rock’n’roll” and founder of Sun Records who discovered Elvis Presley, Johnny Cash, Jerry Lee Lewis, Carl Perkins, and many others including Roy Orbison and B.B.King. NON-SINGING ROLE.
• Dyanne: (20s-early 40s, Female-Identifying) Excellent singer. Dyanne was an aspiring singer and Elvis’s girlfriend. Ahead of her time and assertive, she’s a great singer with a wide range. Dyanne sings solos and back-up throughout the show, sings “Fever” in her alto range, and covers the high soprano part of “Riders In The Sky” (Johnny Cash song).
• Jay Perkins: (20-40s, Male-Identifying) Jay is Carl Perkins’ brother and bassist, who has accompanied him to Sun Records to record Carl’s new album. He is loyal to Carl but also not interested (or willing) to get caught up in the politics of the record business. He remains almost entirely silent in conversation, but performs as part of the ensemble numbers, and
• plays bass on all the musicians’ songs. He is enthusiastic about music and performing, and often will do tricks with his bass, including spinning or flipping the instrument or dancing with it. He is an extremely skilled bass player and performer, able to play at strange angles with other musicians leaning on, or even standing on, his bass.
• S. “Fluke” Holland: (20-40s, Male-Identifying) mid 20s; onstage drummer. Fluke is Carl Perkins’ drummer, who has accompanied him to Sun Records to record Carl’s new album.

• Cosette/Ensemble: (20s. Female-Identifying). Any ethnicity. Vocal Range: Bb3 – C6
